Your Role: Screw Pile Operations Manager

As our Screw Pile Operations Manager, you’ll sit at the centre of our operations, leading the entire Screw Pile Installation division. That includes installers, offsiders, operators, project engineers, schedulers, administrators, trucks, excavators, subcontractors, and everyone contributing to getting our piles in the ground safely and efficiently.

This role is all about coordination, leadership, safety, continuous improvement, and ensuring our installs are delivered on time, on budget, and at a quality level that sets industry standards.

 

You’ll Own Responsibilities Across:

  1. Scheduling & Operational Coordination
  • Manage all scheduled screw pile installations and communicate clearly with clients, engineers, contractors & internal teams.
  • Maintain and update the Seratec scheduling system daily.
  • Allocate machinery, vehicles, equipment, and hire items.
  • Prepare and issue all pre-installation paperwork, job files, scopes, and PO values.
  • Ensure completed job paperwork, materials, and stock are accurately entered into Seratec by month-end.
  • Oversee stock levels, movements, and stocktakes across NSW, QLD & subcontractor sites.
  • Coordinate procurement and align manufacturing with the Production Manager.
  • Manage special fabrication requirements, commercial piers, and non-standard components.
  • Review daily workload and allocate resources to maximise efficiency and minimise slippage.

 

  1. Team Leadership & Workforce Management
  • Lead installers, offsiders, operators, and scheduling/admin support.
  • Conduct 6-monthly performance reviews and drive professional development.
  • Implement training plans and competency tracking.
  • Manage SPI vehicles, servicing, maintenance, and Smartsheet compliance.
  • Resolve team concerns, performance issues, and workforce planning gaps.
  • Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and high performance.

 

  1. Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all certifications (CoCs, Form 15, Form 12, independent certificates, compliance letters) are issued correctly.
  • Deliver monthly SPI audits and all ISO-required audits.
  • Maintain SWMS, SOPs, WMS, and installation procedures.
  • Oversee plant & equipment inspections and WHS compliance.
  • Conduct site visits, quality checks, and investigate defects or incidents.
  • Lead corrective actions and safety improvements.

 

  1. Client Relations & Communication
  • Build strong relationships with construction managers, site supervisors, engineers & key clients.
  • Attend internal and external meetings representing the SPI division.
  • Provide technical guidance on screw pile design, installation, variations & methodology.
  • Manage variations, approvals, and ensure invoicing within 48 hours.
  • Review and approve customer contracts with the GM.

 

  1. Reporting, KPI Tracking & Performance
  • Collate daily install data for morning KPI meetings.
  • Track production, slippage, downtime, output, efficiency & operational performance.
  • Report monthly insights and recommend improvements.
  • Forecast manpower, fleet, and stock requirements.

 

  1. Continuous Improvement & Strategic Support
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across SPI operations.
  • Refine processes, improve customer experience, and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Lot Classification divisions.
  • Support strategic planning, budgeting, and operational optimisation.
