Role Overview:

As a Geo / Field Technician, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality geotechnical outcomes across a wide range of projects. This is a hands-on, field-based position involving onsite testing, field observations, and laboratory support.

You’ll gain exposure to industry-leading tools and techniques, working alongside heavy machinery, drill rigs, nuclear density gauges, and compaction equipment. The role also includes 4WD site access and working across diverse ground conditions throughout NSW.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys physical, practical work, problem-solving in the field, and building specialist skills in geotechnical testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct soil compaction testing using nuclear density gauges
• Observe and verify cut and fill works in accordance with AS 3798
• Collect soil samples and perform on-site moisture and compaction testing
• Carry out DCP and other field tests as required by project scope
• Assist with laboratory testing including moisture content, sieve analysis, and Proctor compaction
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to team development

Selection Criteria:

• Valid Manual Driver’s Licence (essential)
• Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation
• Mechanically minded with practical, hands-on ability
• Strong English communication skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrated reliability, initiative, or achievement in any role or discipline
• White Card required
• Soil testing experience and WHS knowledge advantageous but not essential
• Available to start immediately and keen to join a growing, close-knit team
