Over the last few years so much work has gone into the development of the Oran Park precinct. Estates and house lots are tighter and with less space on site. Added to the limited space on site is the cost removing soil for house foundations.
G.J. Gardner Homes Australia (Penrith, NSW) has achieved a great result for Variety – The children’s charity.
The Penrith team built a brand new 4 bedroom home in Redbank Estate in North Richmond (NSW), which was auctioned last weekend with $375,000 going to Variety charity to help and change the lives of many Australian children. Digging of the house foundations began in March this year and the house was completed by September ready for the pre auction open home viewing. Our Ideal Geotech soil technicians and geotechnical engineers played a small part at the start of the project by carry out onsite soil investigation and laboratory soil testing.
We’re proud to have played our little part on this worthy project.
Our client needed a fast response for 21 lot classifications on a new development in the Central Coast of NSW. We were able assist quickly by sending four soil technicians to complete the testing within a day. We also took the opportunity to shoot a video showing the type of work our geotechnical technicians carry out. We will release that video onto our home page when it’s completed but for now we’ve started with a fun behind the scenes video.
Ideal Foundations are half way through installing 1200 above ground screw piers supporting transportable admin buildings. The project is the construction of new admin buildings to support the building of a new Jail in Wellington NSW. The installation of the screw piers to support transportables above will take approximately three months Dec 2016 to Feb 2017. On average the screw piers are screwed down to 3.75m to accomodate the potential movement of the reactive soils on the site.
We’d like to thank Modular Building Systems (MBS) for the opportunity for our screw piers to support their transportable buildings. A project on this scale certainly makes our screw piers protruding from the ground look like soldiers marching – anyway we think so 🙂

New plant just arrived from the US!
Growing more into the light commercial foundations we wanted to have the same systemised approach as our residential pier. Our engineers have begun an R&D project on a new connection system for our higher capacity screw piers. Part of the new system led us to the good old USA to get the machinery needed. The new swagging system will allow for quicker and easier installation of screw piers similar to our residential piers.
The Ideal Foundations team has just arrived at Wellington NSW. They are about to start installing 1200 screw piers for Modular Building Systems (MBS).
Ideal Corp has taken another step on their growth path with the purchase of an Adelaide business – Anchorpile. The local business operated by Bernie Holding for 15 years was ready to take on it’s next chapter. Bernie’s local knowledge and Ideal Corp’s systemised approach will give South Australian builders many advantages in dealing with some of the most reactive soils found in Australia. The next 6 months will focus on growing the team to promote the benefits of Anchorpile to Engineers and Builders in South Australia.
We were back at Aguip smelling the fresh country air of Gunnedah. It’s funny how quickly a year goes by and it’s our 5th year supporting the largest Agricultural show in Australia. We showcased our Geotechnical rigs and live screw pier installations across the three day event.
Today we’re launching our new cast helix to further enhance our off the shelf residential screw pier. Our R&D team and engineers have spent the last 12 months researching and testing the helix. The new helix has increased the capacity of the residential screw piers by more than 20% with a designed capacity of 85kN.
In May 2014 we began work on the amenities building for Australand Property Group who are redeveloping the Ashlar Golf Course in the Blacktown NSW. The development called Fairwater is planned to build approximately 1100 homes. Ideal Foundations worked with Australand to develop a fixed price solution for the project.
